Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument
The
Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI®) has been a leading conflict management assessment used
by professionals throughout the world to learn about
how differing conflict handling styles affect personal
and group dynamics. TKI® reports an individual's tendencies toward one of five
styles of interacting during a disagreement They
are:
Accommodating
Collaborating
Compromising
Competing
Avoiding
Each
style has its appropriate and inappropriate times for
use, and there are consequences for overusing or under-using
each. These styles can also be used to understand any
verbal interaction between individuals.
